Synopsis Fate is Unkind
Jessica Alexander comes from a remote Northumbrian village. Ten years ago she travelled to Southern Ireland for a weekend break. While there she met and had an affair with an Australian vineyard owner Jack Underhill. Too late she discovers he is a married man.
On her return to Northumberland discovering she is pregnant, Jessica decides to keep the baby. Ten years later persuaded to return to Ireland for her friend’s hen party fate deals a wicked hand when she bumps into Jack who is adamant she will be his, insisting she goes to live with him in Australia.
Fleeing back to Northumberland he follows Jessica, refusing to give her up, leaving her no other option but to tell Jack of their son. Although happy he has a father Jake does not want to live in Australia or leave his grandparents though eventually agrees a holiday.
The story follows them all to Australia, their return to Northumberland without Jack, and how they eventually overcome their problems and become a family. Like all good romance stories it ends on a happy note.
